Becoming a qualifying event (Regional, State or National) allows the best High School BBQ events to be associated with THE SLAB ( Student's LIT About Barbecue) High School event in America: the National High School BBQ Championship.
Ready to take the next step towards putting your school or event on the National High School BBQ Championships' map? Please fill out the following questions regarding your contest. The NHSBBQ Contest Committee will respond within seven business days upon receiving this application.
All event hosts must be National High School BBQ Association Affiliates, have membership in good standing, and a Charter Agreement to be an event qualifying host for the 2025-2026 High School BBQ School season.
SCHOOL/ DISTRICT CHARTER Regular School year high school barbecue events that lead to a State Championship. | HSBBQ STATE CHAMPIONSHIP Exclusive State Championship High School BBQ event that qualifies teams for Regionals and or the National Championship. | COLLEGIATE CHARTER High school barbecue contest hosted at a College or University that is a qualifier for a State Championship. |
EDUCATION CHARTER Non-profit entities or businesses wanting to support or host a high school barbecue events that leads to a State Championship. | SUPER QUALIFIER TOP 2 teams advance to Nationals from these events. | PITMASTER CHARTER Top 5 teams advance to Nationals from these events. |
