The BBQ PTA is the official volunteer corps supporting the National High School BBQ Association®. It connects parents, families, and community members directly to hands-on student learning experiences that build confidence, teamwork, leadership, and career awareness through live fire cooking and food sport competition.

This is structured service with measurable impact — not casual volunteering.

Through organized events and competitions, BBQ PTA volunteers help create safe, supportive environments where students grow beyond the classroom and develop real-world skills that prepare them for future success.

What Volunteers Do

BBQ PTA volunteers assist with:

• Event logistics and coordination
  Student check-in and support
  Safety and supervision support
  Equipment staging and organization
  Team assistance

No cooking experience is required. Training and onboarding are provided.

Volunteer Pathway

Participation grows with experience.

Volunteers may progress through recognition levels that reflect service and leadership:

FIRE PATROL — Event Support
MEAT MARSHAL — Operational Leadership
PIT BOSS — Event Leadership

Participants may pursue Certified M.E.A.T. Judge credentials through additional training and evaluation.

This structured pathway provides recognition and meaningful engagement opportunities.

Safety & Oversight

The program prioritizes student wellbeing and professional event standards.

All volunteers:

• Complete onboarding procedures
  Follow established safety protocols
  Operate within supervised environments
  Support student-first guidelines
