HOW SCHOOLS & TEAMS QUALIFY FOR THE S.L.A.B.®
The National High School BBQ Association® (NHSBBQA®) provides a national framework that allows schools and student teams to advance from local and state-level competitions to THE S.L.A.B.: HSBBQ National Championship®.
Schools and teams qualify by participating in sanctioned State Championships and designated qualifying events during the competition season.
Each state operates within the NHSBBQA® framework, ensuring consistent standards while allowing flexibility at the local level.
