The National High School BBQ Association® (NHSBBQA®) is a Texas S-Corporation, duly organized and existing under the laws of the State of Texas.

NHSBBQA® operates as the national governing body for high school and middle school barbecue education, competition, and applied Career & Technical Education (CTE) programming in the United States.

Corporate Structure

NHSBBQA® is structured as a national parent organization with state-level High School BBQ Associations operating as divisions under the national framework.

Each State High School BBQ Association:

• Operates under the governance standards, educational mission, and brand architecture established by NHSBBQA®

• Serves as the recognized organizing and sanctioning body for high school barbecue programs within its respective state

• May operate through a state-specific legal entity where appropriate

Texas Division (Founding State)

The Texas High School BBQ Association (TXHSBBQ) is the first and founding state division of the National High School BBQ Association®.

The Texas division operates through TexasHSBBQ, LLC, a Texas limited liability company organized to support statewide programming, competitions, partnerships, and school engagement in alignment with NHSBBQA® standards.

TexasHSBBQ, LLC:

• Functions as the official Texas division of NHSBBQA®

• Operates under license and authorization from the national organization

• Adheres to national governance, safety, educational, and competition standards

Governance & Independence

NHSBBQA® maintains centralized national governance, including:

• Brand standards and trademark protection

• Educational frameworks and applied learning models

• Competition rules, safety protocols, and judging systems

• National partnerships and sponsorship architecture

State divisions operate with local leadership and administration, while remaining aligned with NHSBBQA® policies to ensure consistency, integrity, and clarity nationwide.

No Implied Affiliation

NHSBBQA® and its state divisions operate independently of unrelated third-party organizations.
Use of descriptive terms relating to barbecue, education, or geography by other entities does not imply affiliation, endorsement, or governance unless expressly authorized in writing by NHSBBQA®.

Purpose

This corporate structure is designed to:

• Support lawful, scalable national growth

• Preserve clarity of governance and authority

• Protect students, schools, and sponsors from confusion

• Promote responsible, applied learning through barbecue education
